You decide what happens to the contents
Glaive does not independently determine whether possessions belonging to an estate are valuable, sentimental, required by beneficiaries or suitable for disposal.
The authorised client identifies what is to be retained, collected, donated, recycled or disposed of.
Uncertain items
If an item is discovered and its status is unclear, it can be set aside for the authorised client rather than being discarded.

Describe the property, its location, current condition, approximate amount of contents and the assistance required.
Assess the work
Photographs, additional information or a property inspection may be requested to establish the clearing, removal and cleaning requirements.
Agree what stays and goes
The authorised client identifies which contents are to be retained, collected, donated, recycled or disposed of before Glaive removes them.
Clear & clean
Authorised contents are dealt with according to the agreed instructions, followed by the property cleaning included within the confirmed scope.
Cleaning after the property is cleared
Once the agreed contents have been removed or consolidated, Glaive can complete a more comprehensive clean of the property and prepare it for whatever comes next.

Vacuuming, floor cleaning, dusting, accessible surfaces, skirting boards and other agreed detailed cleaning.
Kitchens & bathrooms
Cleaning of kitchens, bathrooms, toilets, cupboards, fixtures and other agreed accessible surfaces.

Final cleaning can help prepare the property for sale, rental, settlement, handover or return to family use.
Every deceased estate is different
Deceased estate work is individually assessed because the amount of clearing, removal and cleaning required can vary substantially between properties.
Useful information includes:
- Property location and approximate size
- Number of bedrooms, bathrooms and other areas
- Current condition of the property
- Approximate quantity of household contents remaining
- Furniture or larger items requiring attention
- Garages, sheds or storage areas requiring clearing
- Items already identified for family collection
- Items authorised for donation, recycling or disposal
- Amount and type of cleaning required after clearing
- Accessible windows or outdoor areas requiring cleaning
- Any known property hazards or access restrictions
Photographs or an onsite assessment may be requested before a quotation is confirmed, particularly where substantial clearing or removal is required.
Disposal charges, external removal services or other third-party costs are not assumed to be included unless specifically identified in the agreed quotation.
Items discovered during clearing
Deceased estate clearing can uncover possessions that were not identified before work began. Glaive will not simply assume that potentially important items are rubbish.
Items such as the following may be set aside for the authorised client where discovered:
- Cash or apparent financial instruments
- Jewellery and watches
- Personal or legal documents
- Photographs and family records
- Keys
- Items that appear potentially valuable or collectible
- Other possessions whose disposal status is unclear
Glaive does not provide valuations or determine the financial, legal or sentimental value of estate property.
Clear service boundaries
Deceased estate cleaning and property clearing is not the same as trauma, decomposition or biohazard remediation.
- Glaive does not provide trauma-scene or decomposition remediation.
- Blood, bodily fluids, biological contamination or other biohazards requiring specialist remediation are excluded.
- Sharps or suspected hazardous drug-related materials are not handled as ordinary household waste.
- Asbestos or suspected asbestos-containing materials are excluded.
- Hazardous or unidentified chemicals are excluded from ordinary clearing and cleaning.
- Prescription medicines and other medications are not disposed of as ordinary household rubbish.
- Weapons or suspected prohibited items are not treated as ordinary household contents and may require appropriate lawful handling.
- Glaive does not determine ownership or entitlement where estate property is disputed.
- Glaive does not independently sell, donate or dispose of estate property without the agreed authority of the client.
- Specialist removal, skip bins, large-item transport or substantial disposal requirements may require separate arrangements or third-party services.
- Glaive may stop work where an unexpected hazard, disputed property issue or other circumstance makes continuing inappropriate or unsafe.
