Assess the site
Photographs, project information or a site inspection may be requested to establish the condition, access requirements and scope of work.
Agree scope & access
Cleaning requirements, site access, induction requirements, timing and other relevant site conditions are agreed before work begins.
Complete the clean
Glaive completes the agreed cleaning work according to the confirmed scope and the site conditions encountered.
Every project is assessed individually
Post-construction and handover cleaning can vary significantly depending on the project, stage of completion, property size, level of building residue and required finish.
A quotation may take into account:
- Residential or commercial property type
- Property size and layout
- Stage of construction or renovation
- Condition of the property when cleaning begins
- Amount and type of ordinary building dust and residue
- Required cleaning standard and presentation level
- Windows, tracks, cabinetry and additional detailed work
- Site access and induction requirements
- Available working hours and project deadlines
- Whether cleaning is staged or completed in one visit
If site conditions or the required work are materially different from those described when the quotation was prepared, any additional work will be discussed before proceeding beyond the agreed scope.
Site conditions and access
Construction and renovation environments can contain risks that are not present during ordinary domestic cleaning. Glaive therefore considers the condition and status of the work area before commencing.
- Required site-specific induction must be completed where applicable.
- Site access arrangements and authorised working areas must be established before work begins.
- Appropriate PPE is used according to the work and site requirements.
- Work areas must be suitable for the cleaning activities being undertaken.
- Construction activity occurring around the cleaning work must not create an uncontrolled risk.
- Site-specific hazards identified by the builder, principal contractor or person controlling the site must be communicated before work commences.
Clear service boundaries
Post-construction cleaning is not specialist hazardous-material remediation. Certain conditions require appropriately trained, equipped and insured specialist contractors.
- Asbestos or suspected asbestos-containing material is excluded.
- Specialist silica-dust remediation is excluded.
- Hazardous chemicals or unidentified hazardous substances are excluded.
- Biological contamination and sharps are excluded.
- Removal of substantial construction waste, rubble or demolition material is not automatically included.
- Cleaning does not include repairs, rectification of defective building work or trade work.
- Permanent scratches, damage, staining or defects in newly installed finishes cannot be corrected through ordinary cleaning.
- Work requiring unsafe access or specialist work-at-height equipment is excluded unless separately assessed and appropriate arrangements are in place.
- Glaive may stop or decline work where an unexpected hazard makes the agreed cleaning activity unsafe to continue.
