Every household is different. Glaive does not assume that every client needs exactly the same checklist. We establish the agreed priorities and scope before work begins, allowing the available time to be focused where it matters most in your home.
What can be included?
Your cleaning plan can be tailored to the property and the time available. Typical household cleaning may include:
- Vacuuming and floor cleaning
- Dusting and accessible surface cleaning
- Kitchen surfaces and general kitchen cleaning
- Bathrooms and toilets
- Bedrooms and living areas
- Mirrors and selected glass surfaces
- General household tidying as agreed
- Bins and ordinary household waste handling
Built around the booking
A four-hour minimum gives enough time to perform meaningful work rather than rushing through a property simply to fit a short appointment.
Priorities first
If the requested work exceeds the time booked, the agreed priority areas are completed first. Additional work can be scheduled or approved where appropriate.
Special requests
If you need something outside routine home cleaning, tell us before the booking so we can determine whether it can be safely and reasonably included.

Equipment and cleaning products supplied
Glaive supplies standard cleaning equipment and cleaning products required for ordinary home cleaning. If your household requires a particular product or has specific surface, allergy or sensitivity requirements, please tell us before the booking so these can be discussed.
Need the windows cleaned too?
Accessible window cleaning is available separately. Because window condition, quantity and access vary considerably between properties, window cleaning is assessed separately according to the requested work and safe accessibility.
Glaive's external window cleaning is limited to ground-floor windows accessible from ground level or, where suitable and safe, using a three-step ladder.

4-hour minimum booking
This is Glaive's standard weekday rate for applicable home cleaning services. Work requiring individual assessment and bookings outside the standard weekday period are priced separately and confirmed before booking.

Home cleaning is based on the agreed tasks, priorities, available booking time and the condition encountered at the property.
If the amount of work is greater than reasonably achievable during the booked time, Glaive will prioritise the agreed areas rather than rush through the entire property.
Additional time or another visit can be discussed where appropriate. Work outside the agreed scope is not automatically added to the booking.
What ordinary home cleaning does not include
Some work requires different equipment, assessment, training or service arrangements.
- Specialist biohazard or trauma cleaning
- Asbestos or suspected asbestos-containing materials
- Hazardous or unidentified substances
- Sharps or dangerous waste
- Specialist mould remediation
- Pest treatment
- Repairs or trade work
- High-access or specialist work-at-height cleaning
- Removal of substantial quantities of rubbish or bulky items
Unexpected conditions
If an unexpected condition creates a safety concern or requires specialist treatment, Glaive may exclude the affected task or area from the service.
Where possible, the remaining agreed cleaning can continue without affecting areas that cannot safely or appropriately be serviced.
Tell us beforehand
If you know about unusual property conditions, significant accumulated waste, difficult access, damaged surfaces or another issue that may affect the work, include it when requesting your quote.
