Keeping a property presentable does not stop at the front door. Glaive's Outdoor Home Help service provides straightforward assistance with routine outdoor maintenance for households that need an extra pair of hands.
The service focuses on practical, manageable jobs rather than specialist landscaping, arborist work or major garden construction.

Lawn mowing
Routine mowing of suitable residential lawns and accessible grassed areas.
Edging
Basic lawn edging around accessible paths, garden edges and suitable property boundaries.
Light shrub & hedge trimming
Routine trimming of accessible shrubs and manageable hedges where the work can be completed safely from ground level or within Glaive's agreed access limits.
Garden tidy-ups
General outdoor tidying, collection of ordinary garden debris and other straightforward maintenance tasks agreed before the visit.
Combine outdoor and household help
Outdoor Home Help does not necessarily need to be booked as a completely separate service.
Where practical, outdoor work can form part of a longer Glaive booking that also includes household cleaning or other agreed home assistance.

This can be particularly useful for clients who would prefer one trusted service rather than arranging different providers for several straightforward household tasks.

Weather and property conditions
Outdoor work depends on suitable weather and safe property conditions. Rain, extreme heat, storms, excessively wet ground or other conditions may make some work inappropriate or unsafe on the scheduled day.
Where conditions are unsuitable, the affected outdoor work may need to be postponed or rescheduled rather than completed in unsafe or damaging conditions.
Clients should identify known hazards, difficult access, irrigation systems, concealed objects, pet areas or other property conditions that may affect the work before it begins.

Outdoor properties vary considerably, so the appropriate service arrangement depends on the actual work required.

- Approximate lawn or outdoor area size
- Current lawn and garden condition
- Whether mowing and edging are required
- Number and approximate size of shrubs or hedges

- Access to the outdoor areas
- Slopes, steps or uneven ground

- Whether green-waste facilities are available onsite

Photographs may be requested where they help establish the amount of work required before the service is confirmed.
Clear service boundaries
Outdoor Home Help is intended for routine, manageable residential property maintenance. It is not a specialist landscaping, arborist or trade service.
- Lawn mowing is limited to areas that can be accessed and maintained safely with appropriate equipment.
- Shrub and hedge work is limited to light, manageable trimming within safe access limits.
- Tree removal, tree lopping and arborist work are not provided.
- Major landscaping, excavation, retaining walls and structural garden work are not provided.
- Specialist pesticide, herbicide or hazardous chemical treatments are not included.
- Work requiring unsafe access, specialist climbing equipment or work at significant height is excluded.
- Green waste can be placed in the client's available green-waste bin where appropriate and capacity permits.
- Removal of substantial quantities of green waste from the property requires separate agreement before work begins.
- Hidden objects, animal waste, sharp objects or other unexpected hazards may require the affected area to be made safe before work continues.
- Glaive may postpone or stop outdoor work where weather, ground conditions or another hazard makes continuing unsafe or likely to cause property damage.
