Wanting help with cleaning, cooking or maintaining the home does not mean giving up control of how you live. Sometimes it simply makes sense to have someone else take care of physically demanding or time-consuming household tasks.
Glaive provides practical assistance based on what the client actually wants done. Services can be arranged directly by the client or, where appropriate, discussed with an authorised family member or representative.
Practical help around the home
Choose one service or discuss a combination of household tasks that can reasonably be completed during the visit.
Home cleaning
Regular or occasional cleaning to help maintain the home without the physical demands of doing everything yourself.
Meal preparation
Everyday meals prepared in your own kitchen according to agreed choices and Glaive's food-safety boundaries.
Clean & Cook
Combine meal preparation and household cleaning during one extended visit using separate hygiene procedures.
Outdoor home help
Lawn mowing, edging, light shrub trimming and routine outdoor tidy-ups within Glaive's safe working limits.
Help that can change with your needs
Household priorities are not necessarily the same every week. One visit may focus on bathrooms and floors while another may require more time in the kitchen or another agreed area.
For ongoing clients, priorities can be discussed and adjusted as practical household needs change.

Where appropriate, several straightforward household tasks may be combined rather than arranging a different provider for every small job.

Glaive's role is to assist with agreed practical household tasks, not to take control of a client's home or everyday decisions.
Clients decide what assistance they want, which areas matter most and how they would like the available service time used within the agreed scope.

Owner-operated
Glaive is owner-operated, providing a direct point of contact and clear accountability for the service delivered in your home.
Checks & training
National Police Check, Working With Children Check, First Aid and CPR, WHS qualifications and infection-control training support Glaive's approach to working in people's homes.
Clear boundaries
We agree what Glaive will do before work begins and do not present household assistance as nursing, personal care or another regulated professional service.
Would having meals prepared help too?
Glaive can provide straightforward in-home meal preparation for clients who would value practical assistance with everyday cooking.
Meals are prepared in the client's own kitchen from choices agreed before the visit. Suitable meals may be prepared for the day of the visit and for appropriate short-term refrigeration or freezing.
Clean & Cook is also available where a client would like meal preparation and household cleaning combined into one extended visit. Meal preparation is completed first, followed by general household cleaning.
Food allergy exclusion: Glaive does not provide meal preparation for anyone with a diagnosed or suspected food allergy, or where allergen-free meal preparation is required.
Glaive does not provide therapeutic or medically prescribed diets.
Private household assistance
You do not need to be an NDIS participant or receiving a government-funded aged-care service to ask Glaive for practical help around your home.
Older people and their families can arrange suitable Glaive services privately and directly, subject to availability and the requested work falling within our service scope.
Family enquiries are welcome.
A family member may make an initial enquiry on behalf of an older person. Where the older person is the client and has decision-making capacity, their wishes and consent remain central to the service arrangement.
Glaive will not assume that a family member can make decisions on another adult's behalf merely because they are related. Where another person is legally authorised to act for the client, relevant arrangements can be discussed as required.
Clear service boundaries
Glaive provides practical household assistance. It is not an aged-care, nursing, medical or personal-care provider.
- Glaive does not provide showering, toileting, dressing, grooming or other personal-care assistance.
- Glaive does not administer medication or manage medication.
- Glaive does not provide nursing, clinical care, therapy or allied-health services.
- Glaive does not lift, transfer or physically assist clients with mobility.
- Glaive does not provide emergency supervision or continuous monitoring of a client.
- Meal preparation remains subject to Glaive's food-safety, allergy and dietary-service exclusions.
- Outdoor work remains subject to the access, weather and safety boundaries of Glaive's Outdoor Home Help service.
- Window cleaning remains subject to Glaive's defined safe-access limits.
- Glaive may decline a requested activity where it falls outside our capability, insurance, agreed scope or safe working arrangements.
