Terms & Conditions
These Terms & Conditions apply to services supplied by Glaive Cleaning Services unless different terms are expressly agreed in writing for a particular service or client.
Effective: 26 September 2026
By accepting a quotation, confirming a booking or engaging Glaive Cleaning Services to perform work, the client agrees to these Terms & Conditions together with the agreed quotation, service scope and any service-specific conditions.
Nothing in these Terms & Conditions is intended to exclude, restrict or modify any consumer guarantee, right or remedy that cannot lawfully be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law or other applicable law.
1. Glaive Cleaning Services
Glaive Cleaning Services provides cleaning, household assistance and selected property services in Macarthur and other locations accepted by Glaive.
Services may include home cleaning, office cleaning, Clean & Cook, in-home meal preparation, outdoor home help, accessible window cleaning, household assistance, end-of-lease cleaning, after-party and event cleaning, post-construction and handover cleaning, deceased estate cleaning and property clearing, and other work expressly agreed by Glaive.
Availability of a service on the website does not mean that the service is suitable for every property, client or situation.
2. Quotes and enquiries
An enquiry or request for quotation does not create a booking or require either party to proceed.
Quotations are based on the information available to Glaive when the work is assessed. Clients are responsible for providing information that is reasonably accurate and relevant to the requested service.
Glaive may request photographs, measurements, additional information or an onsite assessment before confirming a quote.
Unless expressly stated otherwise, a quotation applies only to the work identified in that quotation.
3. Bookings
A booking is confirmed when the service arrangement has been accepted and Glaive has confirmed the booking.
Requested dates or times are not guaranteed until confirmed.
Standard weekday services are subject to Glaive's applicable minimum booking period. Other services may have different minimum requirements depending on the work involved.
Glaive may decline a booking where the requested work falls outside our capability, availability, insurance, equipment, service boundaries or safe working arrangements.
4. Pricing and GST
The standard weekday rate published on the Glaive website applies only to services identified as eligible for that rate and during the stated standard weekday period.
Other services, premium periods, specialist work and variable jobs may be individually quoted or priced before booking.
Unless expressly stated otherwise, Glaive's advertised rates are exclusive of GST. GST will be added where applicable and identified on the relevant quotation or invoice.
Third-party charges, disposal costs, parking charges, specialist equipment or other external costs are not included unless expressly identified in the agreed quotation or service arrangement.
5. Changes to the agreed scope
If the condition of the property, amount of work, access requirements or requested tasks are materially different from the information provided when the service was arranged, Glaive is not automatically required to complete additional work within the original booking or quotation.
Depending on the circumstances, Glaive may:
- Complete the agreed priority work within the available time
- Discuss additional service time
- Provide a revised or additional quotation
- Arrange another visit
- Exclude a task or area that cannot appropriately be serviced
- Decline or stop work where continuing would be unsafe or outside scope
Additional work requiring additional charges will be discussed before it is undertaken where reasonably practicable.
6. Client responsibilities
Clients are responsible for providing reasonable access and conditions necessary for the agreed service.
Depending on the service, this may include:
- Providing safe and lawful access to the property
- Identifying known hazards relevant to the work
- Providing accurate access, parking or building instructions
- Securing pets where necessary for safe service delivery
- Identifying fragile, damaged or sensitive surfaces and belongings
- Providing functioning utilities where reasonably required for the service
- Ensuring Glaive has authority to access and work within the property
- Providing relevant site induction information where applicable
7. Property, valuables and personal belongings
Clients should secure cash, jewellery, important documents, fragile valuables and other items that do not need to remain within the work area.
Glaive will exercise reasonable care while working around client property. Existing damage, deterioration, loose fixtures, unstable items or defects may affect whether an item or surface can safely be cleaned.
Glaive may decline to move or clean an item where doing so creates an unreasonable risk of damage or injury.
8. Keys, access devices and codes
Where a client provides keys, access cards, codes or other access arrangements, they are provided solely for authorised access necessary to deliver the agreed service.
Clients should notify Glaive of relevant alarm, locking, building-access and restricted-area procedures before unattended or after-hours service begins.
Glaive will not knowingly provide client access information to unauthorised persons.
9. Cleaning results and existing conditions
Cleaning can improve the condition and presentation of surfaces but cannot necessarily remove permanent staining, scratching, deterioration, mineral deposits, damage, wear, discolouration or other permanent conditions.
Glaive does not guarantee that every mark, stain or imperfection can be removed.
Where a surface or item appears damaged, unstable or unsuitable for a particular cleaning method, Glaive may use an alternative reasonable method or decline that part of the work.
10. Window cleaning and work at height
Glaive's standard external window cleaning is limited to ground-floor windows accessible from ground level or, where suitable and safe, using a three-step ladder.
Glaive does not provide ordinary high-rise or specialist work-at-height window cleaning.
Access remains subject to ground conditions, weather, surrounding space and the individual task being safely achievable without inappropriate leaning or overreaching.
11. Outdoor Home Help
Outdoor Home Help is limited to routine and manageable residential outdoor work within Glaive's service boundaries.
Weather, wet ground, extreme heat, storms or other conditions may require outdoor work to be postponed or rescheduled.
Tree removal, arborist work, major landscaping, excavation, structural landscaping and other specialist work are not included unless Glaive expressly introduces an appropriately qualified third party under a separate arrangement.
12. Meal preparation and Clean & Cook
Meal preparation takes place in the client's own kitchen unless another service model is expressly introduced and agreed in the future.
For Clean & Cook services, meal preparation is completed before general household cleaning begins. Food preparation and general cleaning activities are separated through defined hygiene procedures.
Clients ordinarily supply the ingredients required for agreed meals unless another arrangement is confirmed beforehand.
The client is responsible for providing suitable functioning kitchen facilities and sufficient appropriate refrigeration or freezer storage for meals intended for later use.
Food allergy exclusion
Glaive does not provide meal preparation for anyone with a diagnosed or suspected food allergy or where allergen-free meal preparation is required.
Domestic kitchens may contain allergens and Glaive does not represent or guarantee a domestic kitchen as allergen-free.
Glaive does not provide therapeutic or medically prescribed diets.
13. NDIS household assistance
Glaive Cleaning Services is not currently a registered NDIS provider.
Glaive may provide appropriate household services where the participant's funding arrangements permit the use of an unregistered provider.
Participants, nominees and plan managers are responsible for confirming that the requested service can appropriately be purchased using the participant's relevant funding.
Glaive does not guarantee that a service will be reimbursed, funded or accepted by the NDIS merely because the client is an NDIS participant.
Glaive's NDIS-related services are limited to the household assistance services expressly agreed. Glaive does not provide nursing, therapy, personal care, medication administration, behaviour support, restrictive practices or participant manual handling of participants.
14. Older People & Home Assistance
Glaive provides practical household assistance and does not represent itself as an aged-care, nursing, medical or personal-care provider.
Services do not include showering, toileting, dressing, grooming, medication administration, nursing, clinical care, therapy, lifting, transferring or physical mobility assistance.
A family member may make an initial enquiry for an older person. Where the older person is the client and has decision-making capacity, their wishes and consent remain central to the service arrangement.
Where another person is legally authorised to act for the client, Glaive may request information reasonably necessary to establish the relevant arrangement.
15. Deceased estates and property clearing
The person instructing Glaive to clear, remove, donate, recycle or dispose of estate property must have appropriate authority to provide those instructions.
Glaive does not determine ownership, beneficiary entitlement, estate disputes or the legal right of competing parties to particular property.
Where ownership, authority or disposal instructions are unclear or disputed, Glaive may set aside affected items or suspend that part of the work until appropriate instructions are provided.
Items discovered during clearing
Items that appear potentially important, valuable or personal, including cash, jewellery, financial instruments, legal documents, photographs, keys or similar property, may be set aside for the authorised client rather than treated as waste.
Glaive does not provide professional valuations and does not guarantee identification of the financial, legal, collectible or sentimental value of estate property.
External disposal, skip-bin, transport, specialist removal and similar third-party costs are not included unless expressly identified in the agreed quotation.
16. Office and commercial cleaning
Office and commercial cleaning is limited to the areas and activities agreed with the client.
Clients are responsible for identifying restricted areas, access requirements, relevant workplace hazards and any site-specific procedures that affect Glaive's work.
Confidential documents, files, personal belongings, computers, servers and specialist equipment are not routinely moved, accessed, reorganised or internally cleaned.
Where unattended or after-hours access is provided, relevant locking, alarm and building-access procedures must be communicated to Glaive.
17. Post-construction and handover cleaning
Post-construction work is subject to appropriate site access, relevant induction requirements and safe working conditions.
Glaive's ordinary post-construction service does not include asbestos removal, specialist silica-dust remediation, hazardous chemical remediation, demolition work or removal of substantial construction rubble.
Glaive may stop or decline work where construction activity, site conditions or an unexpected hazard creates an unacceptable risk.
18. After-party and event cleaning
Event cleaning is based on the event information, expected attendance, areas used, access arrangements and anticipated cleaning requirements provided when the service is arranged.
If the condition encountered is materially different from what was described, additional work or time may require further agreement.
Ordinary event rubbish may be collected and bagged where suitable disposal facilities are available. Substantial waste, bulky items or specialist disposal requirements are not automatically included.
19. Hazardous and specialist conditions
Unless expressly agreed as an appropriately equipped and insured specialist service, Glaive does not undertake work involving:
- Asbestos or suspected asbestos-containing materials
- Specialist silica-dust remediation
- Trauma-scene or decomposition remediation
- Blood, bodily fluids or significant biological contamination
- Sharps or suspected hazardous drug-related materials
- Hazardous or unidentified chemicals
- Other contamination requiring specialist licensing, equipment, training or controls
If such a condition is discovered unexpectedly, Glaive may stop work in the affected area and require the hazard to be appropriately addressed before ordinary cleaning continues.
20. Pets
Clients should advise Glaive where animals are present at the property.
Where necessary for safe and practical service delivery, clients may be asked to secure or separate an animal from the work area.
Glaive may pause or decline work where an animal presents a safety risk or prevents reasonable access to the agreed work area.
21. Cancellations and rescheduling
Clients should provide reasonable notice where a confirmed booking needs to be cancelled or rescheduled.
Any cancellation or rescheduling fee applicable to a particular booking will be disclosed before that booking is confirmed.
Glaive may need to reschedule work because of illness, unsafe conditions, severe weather, vehicle or equipment failure, access problems or other circumstances that reasonably prevent the service from being performed as planned.
Where Glaive needs to reschedule, reasonable efforts will be made to arrange another suitable time.
22. Payment
Payment terms applicable to the service will be stated on the relevant quotation, invoice or service arrangement.
Glaive currently accepts payment by:
- Square
- PayPal
- Cash
- Direct deposit
Payments must be made according to the agreed payment terms. Cash payments remain subject to normal invoicing and record-keeping procedures.
23. Third-party services
Some jobs may require services that Glaive does not directly provide, such as substantial waste removal or another specialist trade or contractor.
Where a third party is proposed, the arrangement and any applicable charges will be discussed before that service is authorised.
Unless Glaive expressly contracts to supply the third-party service as part of its own service, an independently engaged third party remains responsible for its own work.
24. Damage and concerns about service
Clients should notify Glaive as soon as reasonably practicable if they believe property has been damaged during a Glaive service or if there is a concern about work performed.
Prompt notification allows the circumstances to be reviewed while relevant information is still available.
Clients should retain the affected item or condition where reasonably practicable and provide photographs or other relevant information if requested.
Glaive will assess reported concerns reasonably and in accordance with applicable law and any relevant insurance arrangements.
25. Australian Consumer Law
Services supplied to consumers may come with guarantees and other rights under the Australian Consumer Law.
Nothing in these Terms & Conditions excludes, restricts or modifies a guarantee, right, remedy or liability where doing so would be unlawful.
Any limitation or exclusion stated elsewhere in these terms operates only to the extent permitted by law.
26. Website information
Glaive aims to keep service descriptions, pricing information and other website content accurate and current.
Website information is general and does not replace the particular quotation, scope or service arrangement agreed for an individual booking.
Glaive may update website content, services and pricing from time to time. Changes do not retrospectively alter an already accepted quotation or agreement unless both parties agree or applicable law provides otherwise.
27. Privacy
Personal information is handled in accordance with Glaive's Privacy Policy and applicable law.
Clients should avoid providing unnecessary sensitive personal, medical or financial information when requesting ordinary cleaning or household services.
28. Changes to these Terms & Conditions
Glaive may update these Terms & Conditions as the business, services or applicable requirements change.
The current version will be published on the Glaive website with its effective or last-updated date.
The terms applying to an already confirmed service remain subject to the arrangement accepted for that service and applicable law.
29. Governing law
These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws applicable in New South Wales, Australia.
Nothing in this clause prevents a consumer from exercising any right they have under applicable Australian law.
Questions before booking?
If anything about the requested service, scope, access, pricing or these Terms & Conditions is unclear, contact Glaive before confirming the booking.
Clear expectations before work begins are better for both the client and Glaive.
